Key dates for enrolment and voting

• From Thursday 23 May – you can check whether you are enrolled to vote in the Melbourne City Council election by visiting the Victorian Electoral Commission.
• From June – City of Melbourne will send letters to owners, residents and businesses who are enrolled to vote or need to re-enrol.
• August – enrol by 6 August.

The following dates are yet to be confirmed.

• Opening of the Drill Hall, 51-57 Victoria Street, Melbourne which will be open Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm, for candidates to lodge nominations and for people to get early ballot papers.
• Nominations to be a Council election candidate open.
• Nominations to be a Council election candidate close.
• Election ballot packs will be mailed to you.
• Friday 25 October – you must send your completed ballot papers back in the enclosed, pre-paid envelope post marked envelope before 6pm.
• Election day. There will be no voting on election day, as it is a postal vote only.
• Election results announced.
