In the month before elections, Councils must comply with special arrangements to make sure the elections are fair and ethical. The date is yet to be confirmed for this election caretaker period.
During the caretaker period, Councils are not allowed to make certain types of actions and decisions that could influence voters or have a major impact on the new Council.
